Can I send my Kimber right to the factory for a trigger job?  Can they ship it back to me?

You can send it straight to them and they can send it straight back.  I sent my Mini-14 in to Ruger and they sent it straight back to me.  When I shipped it, I sent it USPS insured and it came back Fed-Ex.  Since yours is a handgun, you can't ship it USPS, but you can ship it straight to them.  Call Fed-Ex or UPS before you go to their location to confirm because some of them are dicks about it.
