just out of curiosity, where would one turn to for an accurate count of the general public's opinion on the assault weapon ban? it wouldn't surprise me if the numbers quoted here are an accurate reflection of public opinion.

I'm told CNN might sometimes falsify their polls. I wouldn't accuse them, but most of the media is anti-gun, so it certainly would not surprise me.

Folks: the first rule of media polls is never to believe them. The study methodology is most often either faulty or skewed to their particular perspective, which makes the results invalid.

For example: they might say - we polled 100 people of mixed political following and got the following results......... However, the methodology they used was to poll 1000 people until they got the 100 answers they wanted to prove their point.

Rule number 2: There are lies and there are damn lies.

Rule number 3: statisitics lie and when used by the media, are damn lies.

Your right on mikey, How meany polls are even taken for real. Or is it just some one saying they had a poll about some thing they wanted ever one to belive in. As for the media, Or alot of the media any way . They wouldn't know the trueth if it bet them in the a-- . They only put in what they think well seal paper's or what the democrat's wan't the peopel to belive is the trueth as they see it. And alot of peopel really belive in polls . It's like they can't think at all for them self's about what's going on in this country.

:oops: --Now if we took a pole HERE on the factuality of the CNN poles we would call them damn liars, right. But would not our poll be stilted as it was not representative of the general populace?
statistics prove whatever you want them too. Sales never lie, well,er over tha long haul.
There is another place where an avid poster says that perception sells, and it does, once, but at some point perception has to become reality. It is, to quote SOMEBODY, the reality of it all.
