The 44 mag has been around a long time, like other posts said there is a wealth of reloading info and components, the sky is your limit, where the Ruger 480 is new and still limited to a few choices and also costly components compared to the 44mag, the 480 only edges out the 44mag in a few applications other than that they are close to equal power, unlike lets say the 454 casull, now there is a big jump in power, but in performance the 44mag would come out on top, I have achieved great accuracy using the 44mag, recoil is manageable, unlike the 454 casull is a raped ape LOL, but I still like it;) Just takes a real good hold and stance to be able to group well using hot loads. I believe if you have a 475 revolver you can shoot the 480's, just like the 44mag/44sp & 45LC/454 casull...Aim small hit small. RAMbo.
