Hello everyone, as you can tell I'm new here and I'm also new to traditional archery. A couple of weeks ago a friend invited me to a shoot, although I didn't participate I did pick-up on some products and ideas that would help me in my knifemaking. I met several makers who were very informative and a friend loaned me a book of his, Hunting, the Osage Bow, by Dean Torges. Very good book. I also noticed how family oriented the sport is which is great. The sad part was, although this was the events 14th annual I was told it has been on a decline. :(

I believe it is like everything else on rolling coaster with its up and downs.
this might be a slight slump in the area, however here in my we are experiencing an increase. there is a great push among the general population to build an archery range in our area, with quit a few supporters it is amazing to see there are more people interested in a  archery range (3D, field archery, and olympic targets) rather than another Baseball diamond, There was even several comments made on the local radio  station in support of the range.
So don't give up, this might be a slump and will eventually have a comeback..
