I have a CZ-52, I want to get another, and I would also like to get a Carbine, at least a 20" barrel in this caliber....maybe even a New England.

Me! I like it. Liked it for a long time when it could be had for Broomhandle Mausers. Like it even better now that it is more available for Tokarevs and CZs. Like it even more now that some folks have gone to reloading soft nosed slugs for it - oh yeah! I mean, the round is quite capable, just in its ball configuration - think of what a softnose could do at 1400'/sec or better. Yep, I like it. Mikey.

Me likey, too. It'd be nice if, assuming the AWB is allowed to expire, someone would make a double stack gun chambered for this cartridge that holds 15 or so rounds of ammo. That would be cool. And maybe a semi-auto carbine with an 18" or so barrel that takes the same magazines. That would be neat.

SecuritySix: Norinco makes a double stack Tok in 9mm, and I'm thinkin' that maybe, jes mebbe, the barrels might be interchageable - would really have to check on that, as that would be your double stack backup.

And yes, I would love a carbine in 7.62x25mm, or at least a bolt gun in that caliber.

I heard somewhere that the makers of the famous "Whisper" calibers has come up with two new ones: the 7.63 and the 7.62 Whisper. One is the 30 Luger with a heavy bullet and the other is the 7.62x25 with a heavy bullet. However, I'm willing to bet you will only find them in Contender or Encore barrels. However, last I heard, MCA Sports in Alaska makes chamber inserts for those cartridges. You could put the 30 Luger (.310 bore) through a 303 Brit or a 7.62x39 bolt gun, and the 7.62x25 through any 30 (308) diameter bore, either 308 Winchester, 06, etc. Might be fun but you would be limited to just one shot at a time.

I would love to see a Destroyer Carbine chambered in 7.62x25 but you rarely see those critters around any more. Maybe we could get one of the 9mm carbine types rebarrelled but I'm thinking a short rifle for small game work might be better. Just my 2 cents worth. Mikey.

The round is awesome, but in FMJ it is not very practical for self-defense.
I can't shoot a CZ 52 very well...just doesn't fit my hand. My buddies love it, though.

There is a semi-auto rifle built for it, PPSH or something like that. Inter-Ordnance carried them about two years ago for around $600, IIRC. It was a commercial knock-off of the Soviet assault carbine used in WWII. Quite deadly in Stalingrad, etc.

I am also interested in this caliber for a bolt action gun. I wonder if the Ruger 77/22 can be a good start. If something like that was available, I would purchase more than one rifle.
