To much BS....to few peple to take care of forums and servers...new management......afraid of possibilities of  lawsuit over debated discussions on rechambering and trigger modifications and  all the other assorted modifications ...not to mention all of the unmoderated talk and people posting links to porn sites and such........basicly I think it got way to out of hand...

Take your pick...but I'll tell you...IMHO...were not missing anything at all with the demise of the old forum...this site has tons more of topics...and a much wider diverse mix of good folks here than the old site...not to mention that the management here cared enough to make a very nicer home for us and welcomed us with open arms ...all of us...with just a few simple rules to go by.Those that couldn't or wouldn't  play by those rules...soon left...either on their own...or with a little gentle  nudging from GBO...that's why this place is rated soooooo much higher than any other you'll find...with all of us Handi shooters, and the thousands of other folks that visit here .

Yeah, Mac 11700 has it pretty much nailed down, too many trolls posting ridiculous crap combined with the corporate mindset about lawsuit fears and an apparent unwillingness to pay for moderators. No matter that some would have wilingly done the task for free, it would constitute a job under any type of employment guidelines, and if Marlin/NEF didn't want to pay for that work, there is nothing that could have compelled them to do so.

I think they lost. It would be interesting to know just what kind of influence that board had on their sales, I'm sure that many were sold because of the responses some got on that board to their questions, but we didn't hide our feelings about the rifles shortcomings either.

All in all, I do think our site here at graybeards is better, while I occasionally miss a few of the outragous posts that one player made, it is nice not to have to wade through half a page of nonsense every evening, just to enjoy passing some time with a few online friends. Glad you made it here oktx, enjoy your stay.
