Looking for wood
« on: June 10, 2004, 06:54:57 PM »
I'm thinking about putting a wood stock on my 17hmr.
are there any aftermarket stock suppliers for Sportsters? Used stocks?

Or should I just pay NEF $35 for a wood stock when I send it back for a .22lr barrel?

Maybe they'd give me a credit  for the plastic stock.

the stocks on the centerfire frames will interchange with the sportster
you might want to start a thread on the centerfire fourm asking if anyone wants to swap........if not some one may want to buy you syn.,
you could probably sell it for enough to order wood from h&r

i just put a set of monticarlo wood from  a handi on my new 17 hornady, swapped out perfect. any NEF stock set will fit. and i think the wood feels much better myself.

my 17 sporty will be here on wednesday the 16th. i already bought 4 boxes of ammo !

the sporty comes with a synthetic monte carlo stock and scope mounts. i wish it came with open sights and a straight BC stock....
