With the cayotes we're fighting a losing battle.  They have not only spread to the East Coast, (I saw them in Washington DC in 93), I have seen them here in North Pole, Alaska.  Last week I saw one in the flood control plain near my house.  Unfortunately all I had with me at the time was a .22RF.  The yote spotted me 200 yards out.  I was unable to get closer.  I did not have a call with me at the time.  But yotes are the least of our problems.  We've got wolves running out our ears.  And don't believe those people that say wolves only kill to eat, they kill for the fun of killing.  One day I watched a pack of five wolves rip the bellies out of 17 Caribou.  Once they had ripped it's belly open they left it standing there dieing, and went in search of another.  They never fed from any of these Caribou.  Unfortunately there was a river between us that we could not cross.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

:cb2: Somehow I'm not too worried about the bunny huggers seeing the pictures on this forum. Their liberal little hard drives would crash before tuning in to greybeardoutdoors.com!

I'm not a liberal or a bunny hugger, but anyone who would intentionally shoot to wound an animal shouldn't be allowed to have a rifle in his hand. You give us all a bad name.

Have never known anyone who would intentionally shoot to wound an animal.
As for shooting at an 80yd coyote on the straight away with the .22-250 I think Willy was 100% justified. This caliber kills quickly & cleanly as I have personally seen dozens of times.

I dont think the controversy was over the shot, but about the picture. It appears that some compare it to going through the Macdonald drive through with a dead deer strapped to the car hood at high noon.

I also agree with Old Griz saying the Liberals little hard drive would crash long before it could open GB

It's good thinking to clean up the pictures - to take good aim with the gun and the camera. I don't like having to take a second shot ... but it happens and it's quick - one less preditor to be chewing on things daily, but you gotta eat what you shoot - LOL.

:cb2: Gotta eat what ya shoot, huh? Now there's a new business idea. Since they eat dogs in China, (the third largest resturant in Bejing serves dog) we shoot the coyotes here, have them processed and canned, and shipped to China for food:

Coyote in a can.
Campbells Coyote Soup.
Corned Coyote Hash.
EggYotes.
Chile con Coyote.
Hardy Coyote Stew.
Coyote burgers, chops, steaks, etc.
Coyote burritoes, tacos . . . .

After China, all of Southeast Asia is next. Hot dog! (bad pun) I'm gonna be rich!  :-D
