i heard a lot of discussions that no one would make a wsm or wssm in an encore or contender because the barrel wasent thick enough

I can't help you on the scope choice because I have never had a new Burris. I can tell you that you could not go wrong with the Leupold. I can also recommend the Simmons Aetec with its 5 inches of eye relief. I don't think there is a tougher clearer scope around than the Aetec. This is not a cheap Simmons scope. I have read many reviews praising the Aetec and I love mine. I bought it to put on a 45-70 Encore right after my Bushnell got me in the eye brow. I sold quite a few Burris scopes when I was a gun dealer some years back. I have not tried any of the new ones since they changed hands. The 25 WSSM Shouls be a great choice for long range coyotes, Deer and Antelope. Some would stretch it to include Elk and with good bullets, it should handle that as well. Its really is just a short 25-06 and should be able to handle the same chores. Who is WCG? Do they have a webb site? Thanks! And we will be waiting for a product report.
shot placement is everything.

Are the WSSM safe to shoot in the Encore ? If they are I might get the .223, 243, and the .257.

I know for fact, first hand, that VVCG will make a 223 WSSM.  And they shoot real good too.

I think the 50 mm scope is too big for a skinny Encore.  I'd use something like a Leupold 4.5 * 14 - 40mm scope.

ACCORDING TO STEVE AT VIRGIN VALLEY THE 25 WSSM SHOULD BE FINE.  I WANTED A 257 WEATHERBY BARREL, BUT STEVE SAID THEY QUIT MAKING THAT BARREL BECAUSE OF SOME PROBLEMS THEY WERE HAVING.  IT SHOULD TAKE ABOUT 10 WEEKS TO GET THE BARREL.  LATER THIS SUMMER I WILL POST SOME PICTURES.

James,         VVCG  stands for Virgin Valley Custom Guns. You should be able to perform a search and find them. They have a good reputation for building accurate barrels.[/u]
