I am planning on getting a 223 barrel as soon as I pick up my Encore. What lenght and weight barrels do some of you have and how are they for accuracy? Prarie dog getters?
shot placement is everything.

I shoot a 26 inch heavy barrel stainless that will do 3/8 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Good enough ?

That sounds good. I had an NEF 223 that somebody lifted out of my pick-up. It really shot well also.

James, I have a SS 26" and a blue 24" - the 26" seems to shoot the best, however, it is the one with the best scope on it - I don't see how you could go wrong with either.  Good shooting.

My 26" blued factory barrel shoots 1/2" groups all day long with S&B ammo. It is the most accurate factory barrel I own.

I like the 26" heavy barrel a lot. It's well balanced for varmint shooting. If I were carrying the gun a lot, I'd prefer a ligher barrel.
