Win White Box 45 gr Varmint, 223: Can It Be Beaten?
« on: June 06, 2004, 02:33:17 PM »
I am trying to develope a 223 load for my NEF w/ SS barrel.  I use the Winchester White Box 45 gr Varmint load as a control.  I am using 40 gr Hornady V Max Bullets and Hodgdon BL-C(2) powder, Win Brass and primers.  The White Box rules.  It is the most accurate and by the standard load cost formula VERY darn close to the same cost.  What do y'all see, what is you MOST accurate load for your NEF and does it beat the White Box?
Thanks and Gig''em

If you've got some H335 on hand try 26.5 grs. of it, with a moly Vmax, after about 20 rds. through it ,it should start shooting really good.
Also Mark if you're around the Seminole area Tue. watch for a black Dodge dually pulling a camper/cargo trailer around 2 30 pm. it may be me heading for Carlsbad to check out the deer pop. there. Digger

Ditch: 'cuz of our spring rains (were very good for us) the deer should be great.  I am not a 'deer guy' but my many friends that are say the antlers may be awesome because of the specific grasses that grew in spring due to rains.  Pleanty hot and dry now, however.
