Marlin 1894PG?
« on: June 08, 2004, 04:19:33 PM »
I have a Marlin 1894PG in .44 mag. that shoots high with anything lighter than a 275 gr. load.  240 gr. loads are hitting 6 inches to a foot high at 50 yds.  I have the rear sight adjusted to hit as low as possible...having to hold 8 inches low at 50 yds. just seems ridiculous to me!! :x

Anyone else ever have this problem?  A couple of folks have told me I must have a lemon...  Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!

New York Hunter...that has pretty much been my conclusion; new sights.  I've considered going to a ghost ring set-up since it would be faster anyway.  I don't really want to get rid of the gun, I love everything about it except the issue with point-of-impact  :?  But, I don't want to scope it either; I bought it to shoot it with open sights and if I can't do that then its gone!!!!
