Used Trail Boss . . . How Much?
« on: June 26, 2004, 05:55:20 PM »
:cb2: Stuck my head in a nearby pawn shop today to check out what they had. I know they are high, because they had a scruffy looking M10 for $225 and I just bought one at a sporting goods store that looked like it just came out of the box for $175. However, what caught my attention was a S&W .44 mag. Trail Boss. They wanted $499 for it.

What do you think guys? What should a used TB go for? (I looked at it through the glass and it looked OK, but I haven't held it yet.)

Chris, you are so right on the haggling bit!  I was at the range today and an older guy showed up with a Rem. Model 141 in 35 Remington.  I had seen one in a pawn shop about two weeks ago, but they wanted $375 firm for it, and it was kind of beat up for that kind of money.  Turns out it was the same gun, the smooth talkin' old geezer had gotten them down to $195.00, then snagged it.  Persistence pays!

Too bad I wasn't persistant!
