I had skulked in the background of the NEF forum for sometime before it was shut down. I was very disappointed when it was so unceremoniously closed! I posted rarely, but always found helpful and useful information either when I asked a question or just by reading almost daily. Not only for my 17hmr sporter (which is a shooter w/ Rem & Hornady ammo), but reloading, fixes and great ideas. Not to mention some entertaining debates (I mean the serious ones that help, not the stupid stuff).

I just found this site a couple of weeks ago and recognized some of the names. Needless to say I was thrilled!!

Instead of skulking on this site, I thought I'd say hello

and express how much I appreciate the information & discussion.

Welcome TomD. Ya, I think everyone was taken by surprize at the closure of the old sight but a big thanks to Graybeard for taking us orphans in. Jump right in, post, and enjoy.WELCOME. Lots of great members all over all the forums.

Im glad to see that you found us here at GBO. The format is a little different here but IMHO it is a lot better site than H&R talk.
most of the old regular's from H&R talk are here.
these guys really know these guns.....and know what it takes to make em shoot.

Thanx all.

This is a heck of a site!! I recently added a Marlin 1895 in 45-70 to my gun collection and I like that it has an area here! Also, the Hog Hunting section is great...Hog hunting is a blast...I like to hunt things that get pissed and defend themselves when your on their turf!!

But, there's few things as fun as plinking with the 17 hmr sporter!! I had a beautiful Henry 22 and finally traded it in as once I saw the performance of the 17, I never shot the Henry anymore.
