I want to see if my T/C Renegade is considered traditional?

Well, it depends. For primitive hunting purpose, it would be considered traditional. But for a juried re-enactment it wouldn't. It's design is loosely based on a early 19th century rifle, but it doesn't actually follow any true school or pattern of building that existed.
I guess it's a high quality modern rifle with an old fashioned look about it. And most black powder clubs will be happy to have you shoot with them---as long as you let them win now and then.

I'll tell you. I have a lot of fun with the T/C Renegade shooting black powder. I considered trying Paradox or triple7,  but like my Shiloh Sharps I only shoot black powder in it. It just would not seem right to shoot anything else. I will keep the paradox and triple7 for my inlines. Hope I can use that word here :). I have been switching to the old way of hunting as of late. That is why I started using my T/C Renegade and also shooting my Shiloh Sharps. I like all the smoke :)

I've been to a lot of rondys and the main thing they frown on is aperature sights except on oldtimer trails. The adjustable TC sights are accepted as long as no adjusting is done while on a rifle trail and it's not a "primitive" rondy, been to a couple where persuction guns weren't even acceptable! The color of the hardware or the style of the rifle, as long as it is not a "starwars" style or  representative of a lever gun, it would be accepted. hth,  Tim

filmo and quick said it,,it's widely accepted at all but "juried events"..the adjustable sights is the toss off. After market fixed sights are available from several distrubutors. I too have seen flint lock only, and it's all about portral of an event for "public" aka;flatlander veiwing. But they let GPR's in!

If you keep a low profile,,and try to keep other items pc (clothing, accuterments)(no plastic speed loaders,no sabots,no soda cans or water bottles) you'll be fine.
i'm a realist. i've not seen it all, but man ,,I've Been Around the block once or twice
