I was always told to add 5-10 grains to the caliber
and you should be ok for 75-100 yards on whitetail.
My loads are 50 grains ffg behind a roundball in my .45's
and 60 grains ffg behind a roundball in my 50 and 54.
This guide has never let me down so far. My flintlock
is a little different, It likes a grain per caliber. It is a .45
cal. and anything much over 45 grains and accuracy
falls of sharply? I see some of my NON-Traditional
friends loading 100-150 grains in their in-lines,
I think this is a waste of powder/pellets!
Did I say INLINES and PELLETS? Sorry, I for got where I was
for a moment
