Correct bullet weight for mulies.

Dusty :  You will probably get a vote in every weight their are for the old 06 and yes the 150 is a good one however my choice would be the 165 in my rifle it shoots the best I have found.    JIM

Well, I was think'n, if the .270 kills deer with the 130 gr. bullet and the 25-06 kills deer with the 120 gr. bullet then the 150 in the '06 ought to be up to the task as well.  However, I know that some bullet weights suit some calibers better than others.  I've been told that, in general, the '06 prefers the 150 gr. bullet over all others.  Maybe there's some truth to that and perhaps its just an old hunter's tale.

a 150 would do just fine try a few test shots with some 165s an see how they shoot, myself an 3 of my friends shoot 150s then we played with some 165 an they held tighter past 150 yards

A lot will depend upon what range you will be shooting at, but the 150 should work just fine.  I prefer Hornady 165's and have taken a few with them.

this may be of help, i shoot a 300 mag and use  180 grain bullets for elk and deer..  the lighter bullets blew up on deer when the 180 would hold toghether and not do as much damage to them.. also the 180 workes well for elk..  the 150 should be fine for deer in a 06, but if you dont like the damage its doing go to a heavier bullet..   good luck dave..
