150 gr T7 - Current Status?
« on: June 18, 2004, 02:23:51 AM »
In searching the past message threads I came across a thread from January discussing the use of 150 gr of loose T7 as being a safe load in the Encore.  I have not been able to confirm this as a safe load with either Hodgen or TC.  Can someone direct me to a source (if one is available) that will document the safety of a charge of 150 gr of loose T7 in an Encore 209x50?
Thanks, Jim

I don't believe you will find such documentation (150 grains of LOOSE T7).
WHUT?

Is the current conventional wisdom, then, that 100 gr of T7 is the maximum safe load in the Encore?

I think that the max charge of LOOSE triple 7 suggested is around 130 grains, or a 15% decrease from the 150 grain max load of loose pyrodex suggested.  Of course, I could be wrong, and my shoulder's never felt the need for that much punishment.
