For target the peep is better.  For hunting the peep will cut 10-15 min off of your shooting time.  It can also not rotate the same when the weather changes which is a real bummer when you draw on the big one.  If you compensate with a rubber tube type set up to make sure it rotates the same you add noise to your bow and eventually the tube will weaken and snap.
So if you want that extra insurance for hunting go with the kisser button.  Just make sure you install it correctly or everytime you shoot it will rip a bit of skin off of you lip.

I have always used a nock set for a rear site, mainly to check my anchor point. I've tried the peeps, kisser's, and everything else, and I always go back to the nock set for a rear site. Its worked for me nearly 30 yrs. and for several years my average yardage was 61 yds per 1 shot kills. Also I shoot fingers, don't know how it would work with releases.  Digger

I have used a bow for 25 years now. I started with a kisser button only. When peeps became popular, I used both and still tell today use both. My son uses both and he has been shooting 2 years now and is an excellent shot. I do not have any problems finding the sight picture, because the kisser button always hits the corner of my mouth and my peep sight is right in my line of sight. As soon as the kisser button touches the corner of my mouth I am at full draw and my target is found instantly. Very quick.   I recommend both.

I use a kisser which I position in the corner of my mouth plus the peep with the big hole (1/4'?????). The pins with green fibers are better in low light and fall automatically in the center of the peep. I know I'm good when this stuff is lined up. Works fine for me.
