Used Nissan Pathfinder?

Hi All!  

I am in the market for a used SUV as my first vehicle, I am seriously considering a nisssan pathfinder from the early 90's.

Does anyone have any comments on this vehicle, good, or bad?

How is the gas milage?

Also, how does it compare to something like the chevy blazer, of the same age.

note: This suv will be used mainly for on-road driving, and will see very
         little off-roading. Although where I live, it could be called upon to    
         drive through a foot of snow to get me to work!!

These vehicles are pretty much breakdown proof A well taken care of pathfinder should just be getting broken in by the time you get to 250,000 miles a 4x4 blazer, bronco or jeep will pretty much be toast by the time you get to 175,000.

  BUT You must take the time to change the timing belt on any Nissan V6 every 70,000 miles or so because if allowed to break engine destruction will result!!  This is the only way I,ve ever heard of one of these engines failing.

 Fuel econemy will be comparable to other vehicles in this class but you will have a little less pep than a GM 4.3 or a jeep 4.0L .  Off road one of these will get you anywhere you need to go.

I have a red 1992 4dr. 5sp. manual w/ 149,000.  I am looking to sell it to upgrade to a full size to pull a livestick trailer.  I am getting ready to put new front brakes on it.  It runs good.  Gets about 15mpg, but I do not do much highway driving with it.
I am located in Central IL and price is $2900 firm.
