Recon fuel problem
« on: April 30, 2004, 04:49:29 PM »
I just bought a 1999 Honda Recon and have a fuel problem. Would not start with fuel valve in on position. I thought it may be low on fuel so I toped it off. It would start but would not run very long. I turned it reserve and it would start and run ok. I run it this weekend and it run great for awhile then seem to be starving for fuel or running lean. Has anyone had this problem? Oh I was running on reserve all weekend.

I don't have an ATV or a Honda, but the run position on the fuel selector uses engine vacuum to control it. Check the vacuum hoses to the fuel selector for leaks.

Thought I would reply to thiss in case any one should have this problem. The problem wasn't the fuel valve. It was the vent tube to the cap. the vent line had been forced down the fork and had kinked about three times.  I replaced the vent tube and no more problem.
