Laws on Mailing Barrel and Ammo?
« on: June 24, 2004, 07:22:51 PM »
I posted this on the T/C pistol forum but thought I'd ask it here to get a good cross-section of answers.

Need to mail an Encore barrel and ammo from Indiana to Georgia.

Use UPS, or FedEx, or USPS?

What laws do I need to worry about?  I don't need any more black helicopters circling my house.
Encore / Mathews / Rem870 / Savage 10ML

None that I know of-- loose powder or primers is Haz-Mat, but not factory loaded ammo or just a barrel. No issue with UPS or Fed-Ex, barrel is fine by the USPS-- don't know about the ammo.

Randy is correct about UPS and Fed-EX it would not be an issue with either of them.  However, the USPS will not allow you to ship ammo so only the barrel could go thru USPS.

No ammo through US Mail. Barrel can go any way you choose.
