17Mach2 and 17 Aguila

Read a report on another site where they fired the 17 Aguila in a 17 Mach 2 barrel and didn't have any problems. Velocity and accuracy were very good. The Mach 2 case is slightly longer so the Aguila case expanded at the shoulder to fit the Mach 2 chamber when fired. I don't know as I would want to try it but they said it was safe to do and they never had any case failures. What do you fella's think. Do not, I repeat, do not try to fire a Mach 2 round in a 17 Aguila.

to me it seems like rim fire ammo should be cheap. $5 for  a box of 50 mach 2 or aguila is out of control. the 17 HMR and 22 mag are good hot magnum rounds at $8 - $10 a box, and that's ok, you don't plink with a 17 or 22 mag rimfire. but the Mach 2 and 17 aguila should be in the $2+- per box cost.

i think the mach 2 designers made a mistake by not using a standard 22 LR as the native case, they are produced by the zillions.

also, the aguila is basically a necked down 22LR, does the jacketed bullet component cost justify the 8 cent leap from about 2 cents per round to 10 cents per round ?
