Fisher problems!!!

Anyone have experience with fishers????  I've got them and I need to kill them.  They are having a feast on our chickens.  Any advice on baits etc, would be appreciated.  I've got a live trap(would not be alive for long), and 1 conabear(sp?).  Thanks from a greenhorn from Canada

finally something about my favorite animal,

fisher are very easy to trap, in my opinion.  my favortie set is the famous 5 gallon bucket set with a 220 coniber guarding the entrance.  you might want to try and camo the bucket and get it to blend in, but if they're bold enough to come that close to your house maybe not.  another idea is a bucket stabilizer, it aids in holding the trap in the proper position, and prevents the bucket from rolling should a coon happen to check it out.
for bait i use a variety of things from deer guts in fall, chicken parts etc.  they are a an opportunistic feeder, and it sounds like you don't have a problem getting them to come in, otherwise there is fisher scent on the market you can buy.

if you have any experience with them i personally have never missed a fisher with a good strong, quality #2 coilspring trap.  Be sure its well bedded and covered; they appear to be almost oblivious to these traps.  once caught they are easily dispatched with a .22 (be sure to stake adequetly) maybe try bedding a trap in an open area with some bloody chicken remains suspended about 30" directly above trap since these fishers sound quite bold. i would try this after the live trap has failed you, if it does if you dont have any experience with footholds consult someone who does before making a set.  good luck
