Blacktails......
« on: June 04, 2004, 12:39:44 PM »
Has anyone heard of the DNA testing going on that is suggesting that the Mule Deer is a cross between the Blacktail Deer and the Whitetail Deer?  I am trying to track it down but if anyone else knows about it PLEASE post what you know or have heard.  Thank You.  Small groups and tight lines to all.  Lawdog

quickdtoo,

Sorry for taking so long in answering you but computer problems(basically lack of access) are restricting my computer time.  That is the exact article I lost and couldn’t find.  Now I can notify a certain gentleman that he was wrong.  I know it seems funny that you take a buck Blacktail and breed him to a doe Whitetail and you end up with a bigger deer, Mule Deer.  Thank you for finding it.  Small groups and tight lines to you.  Lawdog

Not trying to be impatient, but I thought since it's been a while since you made this request, you may have missed it, just thought I'd bump it to the top for ya. Glad to help, heh heh, it's always nice to be right, once in a while!   Tim
