Not Marlin, but still pretty....???
« on: September 11, 2004, 10:22:55 AM »
A friend came up with a Winnie 94 in 30/30 carbine. Real purty case hardened receiver [not really bright] with deep but simple engraving and a brass loading gate.. Standard barrel round with standard sights, nice walnut. no safties at all, top eject. He says its from the early sixties or late fifties. About 98%. And he wants 300 dollars from me. Advice sought...should I snap this one up or pass????

What your friend has is the model '94 "Antique Carbine", which was made from 1964-1983. It should have also had a gold saddlering also when new.
The high bluebook for these guns in 100% is $250. I have yet to see anyone get more than a couple hundred for one of these. I'd say your friend is a bit high, or his gun price is I mean.
