Hello Stratocaster
30/06 (15" barrel) using 165 grain bullets.
I use Necos Quickload Software to make a number of determinations for short barrel rifle loadings.
One thing that I try of obtain is maximum efficiency from the load and burn most of the powder in the barrel. That prevents the lip flapping blast.
I used a Sierra BTSP 165 grainer with Reloader 7 powder. It is a little faster than the 4895 powders, but with 45 grains and the 165 grain bullet, you will burn 99.33 % of the powder in a 15 barrel.
The velocity will be about 2331 fps.
The Maximum Pressure for the 30-06 = 58,740 PSI and the above load gets to 43,401 PSI.
Your load of 57 grains and a Nosler Ballistic Tip is burning 86.28% of the powder in your 15 barrel and providing 2500 fps.
The pressure is up to 46,936 which is acceptable. The muzzle blast is probably rather severe.
I have used this software many times and I have found it to be very accurate with the data, pressures and velocity. As a matter a fact, I go to the software before a Loading Manual.
