Source for Contender Trigger
« on: July 06, 2004, 02:02:37 PM »
I want to do some experimenting with modifying the geometry of the finger pad on the Contender trigger.  I like my current trigger and as such I do not want to mess with it so - I want to purchase a trigger to do the modifications on.  I have looked at all the usual suspects i.e. Brownells and Numrich; does anyone know where I can pick up a trigger?  I went to the TC website and they do not list parts for sale nor do they offer schematics with part numbers so I assume they will not or do not want to sell parts; besides I thought an after market source would cost me less.  Any help is appreciated.

If you call TC they will be glad to sell you parts for your contender.  Their prices are not expensive, I have ordered parts a few times and recieved them in less than a week.

I'll look in my goody box in the morning, I think I have a Blued Contender Trigger in there somewhere. If I have one I'll get in touch with you as to where to send it.

SD Handgunner - that is very generous of you, if you have one that would be great, it need not be A1 by any means.  I really only need to get the dimensions correct and for it to act as a template for prototyping.

I will be glad to reimburse you for any shipping fee.  Also, I will keep you in the loop as the project progresses.   A machinist will be doing the referb.  I am looking to get a trigger with less downward motion and more rearward movement when activated; much like target triggers on rifles.  I find the forward raked profile of the TC trigger to be awkward. Also, we are looking to widen the finger pad and make the front profile more vertical.

I think I spoke too soon as I can not find the little box all of those parts were in. I know there was a trigger, striker, spring caps and a couple springs in there, but can't seem to locate the little box all of it was in, and do not remember giving it to anyone. I'll keep looking and let you know if I find it.

In the meantime give T/C a call, as that is where I got my parts, free of charge.
