Anyone load 6.5X55 Swede Mauser?
« on: July 02, 2004, 10:37:10 AM »
I'm looking for a few pet loads for my Swedish Mausers.
One is a M96/38 with a 24" barrel. The other is a M41B with a 29.5" barrel.
So far I'm still loading jacketed bullets. I have a special mould on order from Lee that makes a 170 grain projectile. I can't find any published reloading info above 150 grain. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Bill, I have that mould. It is finely accurate within its velocity limitations. The very fast twist of the 6.5 Swedes limit it to about 1650 fps.  Try 10 grains of Unique to start. Do NOT try driving it at high velocity. There are safe loads that will do it, but the bullets warp and are likely to go any where.

Run searches on 6.5 Oldfeller here and on AR to learn a lot more about that bullet.
It is the duty of the good citizen to love his country and hate his gubmint.
