I've had outstanding accuracy out of my Browning 1885, ruger number 1 and Marlin 1895 with the 300 grain RCBS flatnosed bullet. It shoots great and lowers recoil significantly, which is great for plinking. This bullet will not shoot for beans out of my original 1884 trapdoor, but I believe that is more a function of it's oversize bore than the bullets design.
I have heavier bullet moulds, but this is my deer and plinking bullets. I can easily hit a 16 inch gong (cast Iron frying pan actually!) at 300 yards with this bullet, so it doesn't lose it's accuracy at longer ranges.
