I'd a locked em too, there's nothing good going to come from any more opinions there.

Grouse, I know you are not going to like this, but, give it up decisions have been made.  You and I are not going to win the battle or the war for public opinion here.

I agree with Redhawk1, lock these dead end conversations and get on to getting good things done.

Threatening to leave here and go there isn't going to cause anyone a lost nights sleep except you.  All this will eat you up if you let it and it is not worth it right now.

No matter what we do things are not going to change that much.  If we were to get this whole situation cleared up 6 months down the line some in-liner is going to cross up a "traditionalist" or vica-versa and this whole thing will start again.

There is nothing better than a friend trying to protect-help a friend, but I would almost bet you if you asked Randy he would tell you it is a lost cause and he is moving on.

Really Grouse, as a fellow shooter I am not trying to make you mad, but I will tell you in your next 33 years there will be a lot bigger bumps in the road arise than this one - save your energy...
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

sabotloader, thank you. Your post was well written. I am not trying to make anyone upset either. I just want to get back to the topic and learn a few new things or share any information I may have to others. I hope we can over come any animosity here and just get back to the fun of why we are here. :)

Thanks

Redhawk 1,
I come to this site every day, and read this forum, and all of the others, and would like to welcome you as moderator. I don't post much, but I enjoy the exchange of information. My interests in hunting and shooting go back about 30 years, and this site is a wealth of information for new and old shooters alike. I think everyone who enjoys this site should thank Greybeard and all of the moderators who invest time and money to keep it running. In my opinion Greybeard has shown great restraint by letting all of this crap continue as long as it has. I think if I were flipping the bill here, I would have prevented bitter people from ruining this for everyone a long time ago. If I wanted to listen to someone bitch, I'd go talk to my wife.

I'd like to welcome you, Redhawk, to moderator of this forum.

There's little doubt in my mind that the almighty "I'm right, and if you do
not agree with me, you're dirt." moderator attitude in this forum has
already changed.

Once upon a time, there was a "traditionalist" who constantly argued with
the "inliners" about the merits of each. But, after a time, this guy began
asking the inliners in several forums many questions about the new type
muzzle loaders. He even went out and bought a couple himself. After
gleaning much information off the forums, he wrote a book and suddenly
became an expert on inlines.

Now he's doing the same thing with the Savage, and many suspect the
same thing is going on -- only this time to take away the position of the
author of the Savage owner's manual.  He's even doing "polls" now to
get information from people.  Can he pull it off two times in a row??

Personally, I regard this guy as an info thief.  People who so readily want
to defend him should learn more about him (and not out of his own
mouth where all you will find is personal praise).

Welcome again, Redhawk, you're a breath of fresh air after the
stagnation of self-importance which had dominated this site.
We need to change our politicians
like we do dirty diapers.............
for the same reason.

Redhawk 1,  WELCOME!!

I am a lurker, mostly, but I saw the 'break-up' coming and am sadden by it. as BP burners, we need to stand together, regardless of the weapon style we shoot. the special or early ML seasons are a geniune blessing to some of us. Oh, I still hunt during the regular season, IF I still have a tag to fill. But I look forward to being in the woods with others hunters who at least will see what they are shooting at and not just 'shootin'. As of yet, I have not heard of an ML hunter taking a 'sound shot', yet anyway.

I hunt with an Omeag .50 w/scope and enjoy the hunt AND the meat.

Oh well, WELCOME to you Redhawk 1. . . .

Cuz of Kaintuck

Yes Redhawk welcome !! In regards to the book post by dannoboone I have to add my 2 cents. Hell, any one can write a book or two or what ever on whatever . You do not have to be a expert either if Slick Willie and Hillary can sell books I would guess just about any one can!!          :-D. One reason that the local expert was able to sell any books is he picked a good subject. With the popularity of muzzleloading and not as much printed info out there as there should be so guys are starved for info. The net is great but having a library of outdoors and shooting books is very nice to have. THis is not pick on the guy because he is gone but to be honest I read one of the books and there was not much there info wise  that I could have used it was really really basic. Sam Fadala's black powder books have much more info. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
