I found a 336C at a pawn shop this spring, wasn't too excited about it but it looked like it needed a home. Started shooting it, liked it better. Youngest son fell in love with it, all 70 pounds of him. Recoil? He seems to like it, but I worked up a lighter load for him with a 158 grain bullet. Didn't expect much in the way of accuracy. The silly thing apparently never heard that leverguns aren't accurate, it put five shots into one hole with the pistol bullets at 50 yards. With the 200 grain Rem Factory load, it will shoot into 1.25" at 100 yards as long as I want to sit there and pull the trigger. Never felt the need to hunt deer before, but we're going this year!
Strange what the right rifle will convince a fellla to do!
BTW, the wood on mine is absolutely gorgeous. The man that pawned this gun was either a fool, or blind, or BOTH!
