rem 541 hb
« on: July 23, 2004, 06:39:17 AM »
Hi,
For some reason, I can't track down a thread or discussion that tells whether or not a Rem 541-t HB version is legal for hunting rifle silhouette if it can be made to weight 8.5 lbs. ??  Are these legal, or is everyone shooting the standard 541-t?
Thanks.
PAndy

PAndy:

The key word you do not mention in the heavy barrel is "tapered"
A barrel that is tapered, no longer than 26 inches is allowed for SB Silhouette, provided the entire rifle/scope combination weighs less than 8.5 lbs. and the trigger weight is 2.0 lbs. or more.

Az Jake,
The rifle in question is not here, so I don't know if it is tapered or not.  It is a factory 541-t hb (not custom barreled).

Thanks.
