A rep from a prominent carbon arrow manufacturer advised me to use a rest other than a whisker biscuit, becauase the bristles don't give the arrow enough support during the string's explosive forward travel. Has anyone else heard this or know anything about it? The rep stopped short of saying that using a WB was prohibited with their arrows.

If I decide to change rests, what would be a good choice?

Sounds like a bunch of bull to me. I wonder if that rep's company also is somehow connected with the maker of another type of rest?

I agree with TK. Ive spent some time on the Carolina Archery website reading about the Biscuit rests. The ONLY negative they have ever reported is that of some wear on the vanes over extended use. I dont think you will need to worry in the slightest.

I have used the biscuit with carbon for several years with no problems other than it tearing up my feathers and slight loss in arrow speed. I think that it gives more support than a typical prong rest. I just switched last year to drop away rest which I like better.

I agree with TK and NH, you'd have to consider the source of where that guy's coming from with that statement.

I've shot 4 different types of carbon arrows out of the orginal Wisker Biscuit with no problems....whatsoever. I've hunted and shot 3-D with it and get perfect arrow flight.

Like HuntenNut, I too have switched to a drop-away rest. :roll: The N.A.P. Quick Tune 2000 is on my bow now and it's probably going to ride there for a while.

Not to take anything away from the Wisker Biscuit, as it is an excellent arrow rest and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

That rep is full of bovine excrement. I have shot the heaviest 1/4" outsert carbons to the heavy fishing arrows off the whisker biscuit without any problems. That rep was just pulling your chain.

If a whisker biscuit doesn't give enough support, a fall away rest would give zero support. I think the sales rep was trying to sell another rest

Thanks for all the input guys. Actually, looking at my Whisker Biscuit, I can begin to see the arrow rep's point (he doesn't sell rests). Anyway, whether or not he's right, when I went to pick up my bow (with new string and cable, since the old ones had been cut by a shattered arrow), I couldn't help myself: I bought a drop-away rest, which I like better than the WB.
