Sabot- Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Renegade have a 1-in-48" twist? If so, it will most likely shoot balls as well as slugs. At least that was the selling point behind it- it was a "compromise" twist- capable of handling all sorts of projectiles. Though sabots hadn't arrived on the B.P. scene yet. Anyhow, if you get the urge to shoot traditional fashion, the Renegade should get the job done for you. Then you will become hopelessly addicted to the traditional way and you'll throw all your non- traditional stuff in the nearest river and spend thousands on custom made rifles and period clothing and you'll wind up living in the mountains and trapping beaver for a living. At least you won't be shooting an in-line....

Not so filmokentucky, I've already done that been there and yes I did enjoy it and it is fun and on occasion I still will do it - PRB and Conicals... but, right now I having a blast seeing what kind of performance I can get from these antiques - or at least replicas.  Can you imagine what those old guys could have done with what is available now, even though they really didn't hunt with them that much out here - didn't want to make the big noise - especially in Crow country.

quickdtoo Ya! I know what you mean, this string is getting long, but I don't think I should start another one until I go do some PRB shooting.  filmo was was right though, I had taken the Renegade out this morning, it does have a 1/48 twist.  Sorry for the confusion, but I have 5 of them Traditional Replica's, just got another Renegade stock off E-Bay and going to collect parts to build another...  I am really hooked on the them; but as you already know I am not satisfied with the norm - I want to get on the edge - that is why i invested in all the fang dangle stuff to see how far out there the edge was.
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....
