These are simple guns to take down.Unscrew barrel, remove clip, remove takedown screw and the gun will fall out of stock.I take brake parts cleaner or gumout carb cleaner and spray the heck out of the action.Blow it out with some compressed air and a little mist of remoil and your all set.

They are fairly well made and reliable.  Mine is quite accurate, but the open sights limit it to about 50 yds.  Have had no malfunctions save for one troublesome magazine - others work all the time.  Takedown feature is handy, and they are light and very handy.

I know they're grooved for scope mounting but I wonder if you would have changing POI issues when the barrel is removed/remounted.

I don't know- is the scope mounted on the barrel, or the receiver?

if  it's on the reciever, it would impact the sight, on the barrel, unlikely

Mine is scoped. Ive not had any problem with shifting point of aim. the stock on mine has been shortened to child size. the scope is the only way I can get any sight picture at all.[because of the length.]This was a great gun for my sons, they were a little on the small side. theres only the weight of the barrel ahead of the action. ive not shot it much but the kids shot it alot , its been a good rifle for them.it fell in between the single shots and full size guns.they were mentaly ready for a reapeter but not physicaly able to hold up a full size gun and hold it there. good luck with yours.

I'd like something to carry in a backpack when deer hunting- something to pot the odd grouse with. You don't want to use your deer rifle.Either a 22 or a 20 guage would fit the bill. It's got to be lightweightand carryable

For those uses the Papoose will do fine.  You may not need a scope - as I said at reasonably close ranges (25-50 yds) the open sights are adequate.  Or, you can put an aperture sight in the receiver dovetail.  The barrel/receiver lockup on the Papoose is so tight that I doubt there would be any significant shift of zero.

had one from DU. auction and it was set up with a scoope and it dues work extemly well for a pack gun or toset under pickup seat,it was stainless steel setup and most i shot was 75 yds, and out of 50 round 45 were in 2in sircle, and the kids actualy shot it better than i did, but it is a shorter gun and the weight difference makes it good for them and easyer to control, hope this info helps.       horse.
