257 JDJ

I finally couldn't take it any longer, I got on the phone an ordered a 257 JDJ from SSK. The man with the brown truck arrived a few days later.
I'am in the process of working up some loads. Right now I've got a 85 grain Win/Nosler Ballistic tip doing 2700fps and will group at 5/8" at 100 yards. This pistol is so much FUN!!!! the only problem I have is I can't stop shooting it.  Jerry J

What brand/magnification of scope did you go with?  I hope I am not assuming too much, but 5/8" groups with iron sights at 100 would definitely be optimistic for my capabilities.

I've got a Bushnell 2x6 trophy scope on this with Leupold base and mounts. Sure couldn't do this with iron sights. Loaded up some more rounds and looking forward to my next day at the range.  Jerry J

I've wanted a 257 JDJ for decades and have not got one yet. I do have a couple 6JDJ#2's, have had a 25 Bullberry but no .257JDJ. How long did you wait for it? Tell us a little more about it. I need details...details. You may be able to convince me to do what you did. I can't decide on Handgun or Carbine....

Moe,
This is just a plain vanilla bbl. 14" blue bull. Other than that it is just fun.
I was out yesterday, here is my 200 yard target. I don't know where those flyers came from, just not as young as I used to be.
Good shooting.    Jerry J

The .257 JDJ is one nice round and if you like the quarter bore one ya really should get. SSK keeps hundreds of barrels in stock at all time. Many already made up and ready to ship and others just needing the chamber reamed to ship. Wait time on an SSK barrel is the shortest in the industry. Hardly ever will you need to wait more than a week or two at most. Seems it took less than 10 days for mine to arrive.
