scope clarity

Hi guys, I just wondered if you could give me some help selecting a scope for a tikka whita tail hunter deluxe 30 06 that I bought my son. I was thinking of going with talley mounts and a leupold vx II 3 x 9 x 40 since it has lots of eye releif, but I also want a scope that will be bright and clear as well. I came up with about 5 scopes that range in price of $170.00 to $325.00 and was wondering how you guys would rate them 1 to 5 on brightness and clarity. Bushnell 3200 elite 3 x 9 x 40, nikon monarch 3 x 9 x 40, Weaver grand slam 3 x 10 x 40, Leupold vx II 3 x 9 x 40, Bushnell 4200 2.5 x 10 x 40 maybe riflescopes .com and the optic zone could shed some light on this post or anyone that has these scopes all info will be helpful. thanks fast nighthawk

The Nikon Monarch and Elite 4200 in your list are the best in clarity and brightness.  However, eye relief on the Elite 4200 2.5x-10x-40mm is short.  The Leupold VXII is a great scope, but I'd go with the Nikon Monarch.

I agree with Zachary. The only other downside to the Elite 4200 scopes is their weight. My son has a 3x9 Nikon Monarch and loves it. For the money they are hard to beat. The Nikon Monarchs are as bright and clear if not better than a VX III Leupold.

I would have to agree with the rest.  I would go with the Nikon Monarch.  $ for $ you will get a great scope which is one of the clearest and brightest.
