Is it a simple operation to rechamber 30 Herret to 30-30?

I would think it should be...

In looking at the cartridge drawings http://stevespages.com/jpg/cd30herrett.jpg for the .30 Herrett and http://stevespages.com/jpg/cd3030winchester.jpg for the .30-30 Winchester I am not sure if this is going to work. Looks to me like the diameter at the bottom of the shoulder on the .30 Herrett is larger in diameter than a standard .30-30 Winchester Case in that location and there'd be a hump in your chamber.

However it could be rechambered to the .30-30 Ackley Improved. http://stevespages.com/jpg/cd3030ackleyimproved.jpg In fact my .30-30 Ackley Improved started life out as a 6 Land & Groove 1 in 14" Twist .30 Herrett Barrel. SSK Industries did the rechamber for me, and I simply love this barrel.

I've done some work work with the 30-30 case, from what I've seen the 30 Herrett, 30-30 Win, and the 30-30 AI, diameters at the base of the shoulder are all just different points on the same taper.
However I do agree with SD Handgunner on going straight to the 30-30 Ackley Improved, if you have at least 14" of bbl., if not leave it alone. A 10" 30 Herrett works very well with 130gr bullets. If you need help with the Herrett just ask, mine gave me some grief but it was worth the time.

I have a 10" herrett and if yours is a 10" I would leave it as a herrett.I have 30-30 on 10" and 14" and the herrett is more efficient in 10" tube.

The question is "Why"?  My 10" Herrett tops my 10' 30-30 in every category I care about!  One of my favorite barrels.
