hi i've never posted on this forum but i've got to tell ya'll about "my new quad" in early june i was listening the a local "trading post" on the radio when a lady phoned in and said she had a quad for sale, now as a farmer\guide in alberta ive always thought a quad would be helpful with my daily chores. but with the state of farming (low grain prices, the closed border to canadian beef, drought) i couldn't justify the expenditure of that kind of money, even for a used one. but i called this lady just out of curiousity and found out that she was asking $250 for a 87 2x4 250cc susuki, i said i'd take it. the next day i left for the 3hr drive north to pick it up. when i finally found the place, i discovered that her husband had tried to fix the broken timing chain two years earlier and stripped the entire engine and never got it back together. i figured i didn't drive almost four hours (i got lost once) and not come home without something to make this long story short i got it home and with a little help from my mechanic brother we had the engine purring, well not like a kitten but an old tomcat with a bad cold, so now i have a quad that'll start with electric start has reverse and all the forward gears and speed i'm comfortable with.
