Even though I'm More of a shooter than a hunter and have devoted only a few days a year to deer you can put me in the Whitetail catagory..........Essex

Even though squirrels and rabbits are fun, there's nothing like whitetails. Bears are like seeing bigfoot in my part of PA, no elk, no mule or blacktail deer, never hunted ducks so can't tell ya....that's bout it.  :D

Because of where I live, Mule Deer. If I lived in the valley, Blacktail's, if I lived where Whitetails were king, Whitetail's.

Lawdog, you said something earlier about whitetail's looking over the pacific ocean. Maybe so! In the late 60's, one of my brother's shot a deer in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I didn't see the deer but Idid see the antler's, WHITETAIL!!!!! Not sure where he got it and lost the antlers in a house fire a couple year's ago. Have heard rumor's of Whitetails in the Cascade Mts also but never seen one.

I usually like to be different, but I've got to join the majority and throw my vote in for whitetail.

I picked Birds/fishing because there are just the two of us now, and it would give me more time in the field/and water--- Almost an all year endeavor. :)

All you fellas who are voting for whitetail need to try some moose... best meat anywhere.

Hi All;
        I would like to enter my 2 cents worth. I live in southern Ontario, Canada. Given the existing regulations and availability of tags, the area I live in and so on, I too would go with the Whitetailed Deer. Beautiful animal, excellent meat. Worthy of the hunt and in good, close supply and obtaining a tag is not a problem. It is very possible to gain more game seals if you wish. Moose offers much more but availability of tags is an issue. Also, for a Southerner(?), a trip away for several weeks is necessary. I love the Ruffed Grouse, hunting it and eating eat and it runs a close second to the Whitetail. Much more meat on you deer though.
        Haven't tried Black Bear hunting but will attempt it next fall.

        Thats my thoughts. Best Regards!
