I'm not sure that I fully understand your question.  There are several different designs out for Encore breech plugs.  Some have a hollow cavity and others have a flat surface to prevent crushing of Pyrodex pellets.  Both of my Encore breech plugs have the hollow cavity which is fine since I only shoot loose powder anyway.  I never could figure out why anyone would use pellets since quickloads are available to store pre-measured charges and loose powder is a lot more versatile and CHEAPER!  I'm getting sidetracked arent I.... :)

Anyway, I used to have both an Encore and an Omega and the breechplugs were interchangeable.

HTH,

Type 1 - Deep Cavity.  Works great for loose powder and also for pellets as long as you are careful and do not crush the pellets.

Type 2 - Flat with a very small and shallow cavity in the middle.  This one seems to create more problems with crud rings.  Eliminates crushed pellet potential.

Type 3 - Flat with a bigger and deeper cavity in the middle.  Suppose to help with the elimination of the crud ring.  Eliminates crushed pellet potential.

My Encore has Type 1 and it works fine with pellets and loose.

I'm not sure which one I have in my Omega, but I've never had any trouble using loose powder or pellets.
