Bipod sling stud
« on: August 11, 2004, 01:57:35 AM »
Hello

How far back should a sling stud be mounted for a small Harris bipod.   I have a generic bipod and my stud is too far forward.  Wondering if a Harris is built different.

Thanks

Joel

Bipod sling stud

For my Super 14 barrels I use the front forearm mounting screw spot and replace the screw with an appropriately shortened machine screw sling stud.  I don't use a bipod on my 10" barrels.  I have several barrels I use with a Pachmyer forend and use the one mounting hole on that for a sling stud.

FWIW I always put a couple of stainless steel washers between the forearm and the barrel to float the barrel on wood forends.

Hope this helps.
