Sid you ask a bunch of questions in a row...too many to begin to answer.  Try to focus a bit more in the future, please.

Coyote traps will work fine for cats.  However, most, I think, serious cat traps would select #3s and #4s for their first chioce on cats.

I don't know what your cats would be worth.  Check with your fur buyer and the market repot in Trapper and Pred Caller or FF&G.

3 too 4 lbs

check local regs on visable bait  (ducks in tree)

Dirt hole will work but you really want to crowd / guide cats to the pan ...don't give them any other options.

Thats a strat

I had a Bobcat in a cage,  collecting a little in heat urine, years ago.
Best trapping and hounding season I have had.  When their pee turns pink from being in heat, start collecting it, and remember they bleed a week, and then breed a week.  So from the first pink Cat pee, save it oh,  three weeks!  If the scent doesn't work the cat will!  Joedog treed one 75 yards  back of my house!   We hounded two more and trapped two more too!   Total = 5 Cats!
Walking distance of my house!  Dallas county, millions of people in this county!
Cats will smell it for miles!
                                     Luck!
