we had the state shoot here this weekend.. i went out thurs, fri, sat, and sunday morning before going to work or church on sunday.. i hit 23,24, 25,24 in the mornings.. three of missis were on windy days. the gun hit many me misses(meaning i was not dead on and the gun picked it up), and only one gun miss(meaning i was on and the clay didnt break).. everything seemed to be going well in the little 7 pound gun with 16 x 16 2 1/2 inch shells (and a 8.7x 72r below).. it was great shooting out there with all the 9+ pound very special looooong trap guns, when mine has only 24 inch barrel. we did have a club record 499/500 on one squad.. any how the load is...... fiochi hull cut to 2 1/2 inches, third fireing, fiochi 616 primer. number 19 mec powder bushing which throws about 22 1/2 grains hs6.. . then a z16 wad from ballistic products with 52 pounds wad pressure. then with a 1 1/8 ounce bar (throwing quite close to one 1/8 ounce of number 8 magnum shot), on the last day i used 7 1/2 magnum shot. then 6 point fold crimp.. finally no crushed hulls lately.. the highly engraved drilling gets its share of birds, and im pretty happy with all your help ive gotten here.. thanks to you all. dave..
