I just bought one. I have the 28" camo one. The action is smooth as silk, came with 5 chokes and sling studs for 419 bucks.
My question is, I would like to change the front sight bead to something smaller, better quality, and not so dumb looking. Has anyone ever done this? What is the best kind to get? and does anyone know if this factory sight is theaded in or just a press fit. Thanks....Flinch

Ahh, the weekend is finally here. I finally have time to shoot some clays today. I will report on the recoil and function later. As for the sight, I put one of those Tru Glow fiber optic sights on it. I got the smallest one they had, it looks pretty good and I can change colors too if I want. Installation was simple, I just unscrewed the old bead and installed the new one with one of the 4 different screws the new sight came with. Hopefully it will stay on, I used blue loc tite so it should be fine.

So far im real happy with this gun. I shot 4 boxes of 1 1/8 ounce loads with no problems. This is my first auto so im not sure if the recoil was heavy for one of these or not. To me it was comarable to my old pump gun with light loads. I will try some 3" mags to today and see how that goes.

Well, here is the 3'mag report on my new Stoeger 2000. They kick like a pissed mule! This inertia gun is not mercifull to the shoulder at all, with heavy loads it kicks every bit as hard as my pump gun.
Function and reliability was great though. Im still very pleased with it, and the price.

I did some things to my stock to help reduce recoil and improve the balance of this Steoger, and it worked like a charm. I filled the plastic stock with parrifin wax, as it hardened, I put some lead wheel weights in it. I kept a hole for the bolt also in case I ever need to get the stock off again. This seems to have reduced the recoil by about half, it doesnt have near the sting it used to and it got rid of that cheap hollow plastic sound since the stock is pretty much solid now.
Just thought I would pass this idea on in case someone wants a cheap fix for there plastic stock.
