Ruger Blackhawk 45LC/ACP?
« on: July 19, 2004, 06:29:12 AM »
I have found a few of these guns used for around $250. That price sounds low and was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with this model. I am looking for a 45 lc and was wondering why this convertible model is cheaper than a straight Ruger BH 45? Is one stonger than the other?

I'd jump on it before the owner changed his mind.  That's a great deal, especially considering two cylinders.  Even if something is wrong with the pistol, send it to Ruger and they'll fix it for free or next to nothing.  The only caution is to get the serial number and run it through your local police department where thy can search if it is "hot"  before you lay out the cash.

I'm with castaway.  Get moving.  While the 357/9mm is usually mediocre at best for accuracy, many of the 45/ACP's are near match grade.   If you're a handloader, you'd never really need another centerfire.  From plinking with cheap ammo and targets to heavy hunting loads, this rig can do it.

I own one of these convertables, and it shoots fine with the 45colt cylinder installed though accuracy falls off a bit in 45ACP. Around my place a used one sells for right around $240 almost everywhere and you can "work" the price down a few bucks lower if you know how to talk to a shop owner

I have a stainless convertable vaquero and 2 45 colt bisleys rugers , these are a pretty good guns .
The spare cylinder in 45 acp for mine is just as accurate as the 45 colt cylinder . If you are not interested in the acp cylinder they sell for $100+ on ebay.

Erick,
Like some of the posts above, If i was you i would jump on it like a duck on a june bug, You sure as heck won't find that kind of a price in my neck of the woods. If we find them in this area for 300 we consider it a steal.
You better pull your boots back on and lite a shuck and get on down there
Good luck.............Joe................

I have one and love it. It's my  plinking gun, most of the time. Get it while you can...
