SSK TSO'B Full Rib Barrels & Scopes
« on: July 31, 2004, 08:37:13 AM »
:?:   Just wanted to ask what you gents have done in mounting scopes on the SSK TSO'B full-length ribbed barrels.

Bought 4 of them (257, 6.5, 309 and 375 JDJ's) in stainless and still have not found a scope mounting solution that I am happy with.   The TSO'B rings (have 12 in two styles) are worthless except for scopes with a small objective lens, so I will not be using them (not even JD's once touted Simmons Gold Medal 2-7 will clear the rib mounted in these rings).   :noway:

Wanted to put some 30mm scopes (lrg. obj.) that I have on hand on 2 of them, 1" large objective on the other two.   So am looking for your ideas for both 1" and 30mm tubes, both blue/matt and stainless/nickel, and that will take the pounding on the HC's.    Will need to be high to very high rings for the scopes I plan to mount to clear the ribs I expect.

Any ideas appreciated, and thanks.

Ladobe: Try the Warne Maxima Rings.  I have found they work well on the SSK TSOB mounts as well on Weaver and VV mounts.   Good quality steel with solid attachment to scopes.   Ed

Hey RWD,

Those are some fine looking rigs you have there!  I'll bet you sleep with them under your pillow so you can keep an eye on 'em!

Safe and good shooting to you!   :D

I'm missing something here and this isn't the first time. How can others see pictures of RDW's guns and all I see are small boxes with and x in them? What goes?  Pat

sometimes hunt101 goes down and all pix are unaccessable. One bad thing about them.
Also, thanks for your comments guys!!! I like them to look good, and in my head, they then shoot better as well, and right now, I have no complaints about these two!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions singleshot and RWD.   Do have Warne rings on some of my other HC's and should have thought about them (just have too many to keep track of I guess).

Nice rigs RWD.

Here's the culprits with some of the 30mm scopes I wanted to use.
