Antique Remington 22 LR question
« on: July 17, 2004, 07:01:52 PM »
Hi I received as a gift an old Remington pup action 22 lr in an octagon barrel and a crescent shaped butt stock. The serial number starts with 307XXX and ir has the letters RW stamped right over the serial number.

Does any one know when this rifle was produced and how much is the value. Thanks

Melduja,
Probably a Model 12A,  made 1912-35.  A Model 12B was .22 Short only.  The Model 12C had a 24" / oct.bbl.  The 12CS was in 22WRF.  They're all about the same value; ~$300.
'Have no idea what that over-stamping might mean.

I have amodel 12 thats missing its bolt. it seems to be a take down rifle. the people that gave it to me said they took the bolt out to keep it safe around the kids and lost it. any idea where I might find a replacement?

They can still be found at gunshows occassionaly and I've had some luck with parts at the normal parts suppliers, GunPartsCorp and JackFirst.  I've also seen bolts selling a lot lately on EBay for the M12/121's..
