trading my old contender???

I have a chance to trade my old T/C contender .357max, serial #262847 for a new varmint rifle worth over $500.00. My question is are  the newer contender frames better than the old, cause I will be replacing it , as I love the .357max. My frame (#262847) has the mountain lion on the side. What do you new contender owners think of them.

Good luck finding a replacement Contender frame.  From what I understand, TC stopped making them (being replaced with the G2) and they are gettting scarce.
